Two injectors were adjacent to each other outside of the tube, filled with something glowing. It seemed as though fire was inside these injectors. The injectors moved towards the tube and phased right through it! The injectors went inside the black mass. The mass trembled slightly as the fire was placed into it.
As the injectors moved away, the mass began to take shape. The mass turned mostly red. The mass formed hands, feet, and a head. Then, features began to form, such as eyes, ears, a mouth, a nose, and quills with ebony stripes. A tanish-orange muzzle formed over the creature's mouth. The creature kept forming until it could be recognized as a baby hedgehog!
"Finally," a dark figure said, "I've created a creature that will rid me of that black and red hedgehog once and for all!"
He pounded his fist on the table. The hedgehog twitched its ears, then kicked the glass, but not hard enough to scratch it, just tap it. The figure, Black Doom, turned to the hedgehog, and chuckled.
"Patience, my little Scarlet. You will get your chance to destroy that hedgehog soon enough. I just need someone to take care of you until you reach the age of five. Hmmm..."
Suddenly, one of the machines started beeping. Doom rushed over to it. He saw a yellow streak on one of the monitors, then another, and another.
"Black Arms, stop that hedgehog!"
Suddenly, there was a loud boom at the titanium doors.
"Ha! You think those pathetic little minions of yours can stop me, Doom?"
The hedgehog, otherwise known as Shadow, noticed Scarlet. He used a Chaos Spear to break open the glass. A warning siren sounded when the glass broke. Doom rushed over to Scarlet, who was now on the cold concrete floor, and was crying. Doom picked up Scarlet.
"You fool, now look at what you've done! Black Arms, seize that hedgehog!"
While Shadow fought the Black Arms, Doom transported himself and Scarlet to another planet, Gardenia (gar-DEEN-yuh). The lifeforms on the planet were hedgehogs and humans.
Doom laid Scarlet in a basket filled with hay, placed a blanket on her, and placed a note on the blanket that said:
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Thorn:
Please take good care of my daughter, Scarlet. I cannot afford to raise her properly."
The Thorns were rulers of Gardenia, and they were humans.
Doom placed the basket on the front doorstep of a mansion, rang the doorbell, then disappeared. A light turned on on the second story of the mansion. A human opened the front door. The human noticed Scarlet. The human, a woman, picked up Scarlet in one hand, while she picked up the note in the other. She read the note.
"Michael, get down here!"
Footsteps were heard as they softly thudded on the stairs. A man came into view.
"What is it, my dearest Marilyn?"
He noticed Scarlet, who had stopped crying, and was looking at her surroundings.
"Oh, thank the heavens! We have been blessed with a second child," he exclaimed.
"Mommy, Daddy, what's with all the yelling," asked a blond hair, blue-eyed 7-year-old Marie.
"Marie, take a look at your new baby sister, Scarlet Michelle Thorn," said Marilyn.
"Yay! I have a new baby sister," Marie squealed with delight.
"Marie, do you still have that baby doll crib you used to play with?"
"Yes, Mommy, I still do."
"Then that will be her bed for now."
Once the crib was ready, Marilyn placed Scarlet in her crib on her back. She fell asleep instantly and stayed asleep the entire night.
The next morning:
"I can't believe she slept through the entire night without waking up," exclaimed Michael.
They heard a toilet flush, and Scarlet literally walked out of the bathroom. She was wobbly (like all kids are when they try to walk for the first time). She walked over to them, and gently tugged on Marilyn's dress. Marilyn picked her up.
"Scarlet is a very gifted child."
They noticed her eye color change from yellow to orange. Then, they heard her stomach growl. Michael chuckled.
"I guess it's time for breakfast."
Scarlet giggled and smiled, all her baby teeth had grown in.
"Well, solid foods for you, then."
